Bill Jurey
Retirement is more than signing up for Medicare.
Bill Jurey is the founder of Good Life Retirement Solutions, an independent Medicare and retirement insurance agency in Lincoln, Nebraska. He helps people who are turning 65, retiring early or reviewing their coverage compare plans from several insurance companies, then make the choice themselves.
Current work: Bill leads Good Life Retirement Solutions as an independent licensed agent. He is not employed by any one insurance company, and his help costs clients nothing.
His work brings together two decades of process engineering, a habit of starting every review with a client’s prescriptions, and a question he wants retirees to ask: not whether the money will last, but how much they will leave for their families.

From the factory floor
Twenty years of counting parts, then Medicare.
Bill spent a little over twenty years in manufacturing, the later years in quality and process engineering. He earned his life and health insurance license in 2017 and began helping people with Medicare in 2020, after a friend who worked in the field told him the work was rewarding.
He meets clients at his office in Lincoln, by phone or by video, and works with people across Nebraska, including Omaha and Grand Island. His focus is Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Part D drug coverage, alongside life insurance and planning for the costs Medicare does not cover.
A point of view
Medications first.
Every review Bill does starts with the client’s prescriptions and doctors. A plan that looks inexpensive can cost far more once a specific drug sits on a higher tier, and networks change from one year to the next. Checking the details first is what keeps a decision from becoming a surprise.
“It’s not my decision.”
Bill explains the options and leaves the choice with the person who will live with it. He would rather a client forget the details on the drive home than leave the table without understanding why a plan fits.
Every fall
The two weeks before open enrollment.
Insurance companies publish next year’s Medicare plans around October 1, and Annual Enrollment opens October 15. Bill uses the time in between to decide which clients to call first, checks each plan against new prescriptions or doctors, and leaves people where they are when their plan still fits.
For 2027 coverage, Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, 2026. Plan details and availability should be confirmed for each county.
Questions about Bill
Who is Bill Jurey?
Bill Jurey is the founder of Good Life Retirement Solutions, an independent Medicare and retirement insurance agency in Lincoln, Nebraska. He has been a licensed insurance agent since 2017 and has helped people with Medicare since 2020.
What does he help with?
Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Part D drug plans, along with life insurance and planning for the costs Medicare does not cover. Most of the people he works with are turning 65, retiring early or reviewing a plan they already have.
Is Bill Jurey a Christian, faith-based insurance agent?
Yes. Bill is a Christian, and his family attends a Lutheran church in Lincoln, where he volunteers with the youth groups and goes on summer mission trips. His faith shapes how he works: honest answers, patience, and no pressure. He helps people of every faith and background.
Is he a local insurance agent in Lincoln, Nebraska?
Yes. Bill lives in Lincoln and meets clients at his office at 285 S 68th St Place, Suite 207, in east Lincoln near CHI Health St. Elizabeth. He also works with people in Omaha, Grand Island and across Nebraska by phone or video.
What is Bill like to work with?
Plainspoken, patient and a little funny. He calls himself a math guy, explains plans with a pen and a whiteboard instead of a slide deck, and takes the time to make sure you understand your options before you decide. He answers his own phone.
Will he pressure me to buy something?
No. Bill lays out the options and leaves the decision with you. If your current plan still fits, he tells you to keep it. If the plan that fits best is one he cannot offer, he says so.
Is he a good fit if Medicare feels overwhelming?
That is who he works with most. Many clients come to him confused by mail and TV ads, or helping a parent sort it out. He starts with your prescriptions and doctors and builds from there, one piece at a time.
Is he an independent agent?
Yes. He is not tied to one insurance company. He compares plans from several carriers, which lets him look for the plan that fits you rather than the one a single company sells.
What did he do before insurance?
He spent a little over twenty years in manufacturing, the later years in quality and process engineering. That background is why he checks the details: every prescription, every doctor, every year.
Who is Bill outside of work?
A husband of more than 25 years and a dad of two kids still in school. Family and church come first, and he likes to say he enjoys people, which is a big part of why he does this work.
Does it cost anything to work with him?
No. Insurance companies pay agents when someone enrolls, and Medicare plan premiums are the same with or without an agent. A review or a second opinion costs nothing.
